Odontogenic keratocyst of the maxilla: a diagnostic problem

A case is reported of an 11-year-old boy with a space-occupying lesion in the left maxilla: the radiographic appearances were consistent with either fibrous dysplasia or an adenomatoid odontogenic tumour but the histology proved it to be an odontogenic keratocyst.
